Thank you to Melissa and Tiffany for giving us a tour and a behind-the-scenes look at the Streator Public Library. We learned about all the resources (the majority of them free) available to residents, including 3-D printing, a soon-to-be-operational sewing room and laminating, among other items. We learned about the history of the building, as well as the departments within the library, how they operate and how they are funded. Reuben Soderstrom used the library as a resource to propel himself to an impactful career as a labor leader, demonstrating just how powerful of an asset it can be. "Knowledge is power."
