Thank you to Doug, Ashton and Katie at Vactor for giving us a tour of their 400,000 square foot facility. We heard about the products Vactor makes and ships all over the world from right here in Streator, including sewer cleaning, industrial vacuum and hydro excavation vehicles. We also learned about the various departments that contribute to the process, such as engineering, production, purchasing, management, quality and safety, facilities and maintenance, human resources and IT. We were wowed at how big the factory is and the amount of detail that goes into each customized vehicle. Vactor is a great example that big things still can be accomplished in small towns.
