Thank you to Laura and Evergreen Senior Living for speaking to us about the operations of the senior living facility and sharing some doughnuts. We learned about the various departments and careers available there, including food preparation, administration, community relations, maintenance, activities and nursing (meeting the heads of all those departments). We heard about how the facility is funded and the process for residents. We also took a tour, seeing the activities area, dining room, study, sunroom, hair salon and store. Laura shared how important networking is for attracting residents and providing services to them; she talked about the relationships she's made with other senior care facilities, the YMCA, the Streator Chamber of Commerce, health care providers and financial advisors, among others. This is a great tip as we embark on our individual businesses this semester.
