Thank you to Bart Solon, a founder of Partners Bank in southern Illinois, for speaking with us. A Streator native, Bart shared many business principles with us that he gathered from decades in the banking industry that included 24 years as a CEO and 37 years as a board member. He talked about how developing relationships was key to founding a bank and making it successful, including a technique he referred to as "MBWA" "manage by walking around" and getting to know what's around you. Bart also is involved with Streator Unlimited, Inc through the Lynne F. Solon Foundation and he talked about that association. He spoke about the role Streator has played in developing his character and reminded us not to overlook the importance of our hometown.
